Shazeb's April Selection.

I have come across more quality music in the past few weeks than I have in the past 6 months...Maybe I wasn't listening intently enough..Or maybe right now is just a freaking great time for indie music. I have stumbled across quite a few future-superstars and quite a few tracks that will really, really show you the power of synth. Enough talk, lets get to the music.

What i imagine to be the perfect place to listen to these tracks..

Let's start with the finest track i've come across. Seriously though, no track has made me marvel at music quite as much as ''Rumored To Be Real'' by the Bee's Knees since ''Shooting Stars'' by Bag Raiders. and that's saying a lot. Think Chromeo, VALERIE, Hey Champ, and Van She mixed in a blender with a touch of space disco..yes, that is how sexy the Bee's Knees are. Remember the name, they will be huge.

NANTES is an indie-rock group that is, ironically, from the only other place that makes great music-- Australia. Their track ''static'' is in the same style of music as many tracks released by Nate Salman and Waterstrider (check them out ASAP).  Static is a catchy track that you'll have a hard time geting off repeat, so be sure to add it to your weekend playlists!

Bendix Mihle is definitely a very classy producer. He's been touching up tons of vintage disco/funk tracks in just the right way. His edit of the ''Put Your Hands Together'' by the O' Jays is simply bliss (smooth synths and classy rhythms)

Being the esotoric blogger I am, I feel inclined to show you this banger future-house track I stumbled upon earlier this week. Chris Lake is a champ, in every sense of the word. His remix of SNBRN's ''California'' is flat out beast...If you are human, then you will dance to this- such is the beauty of universally great tracks. Be sure to play this at some point at whatever parties/events you're going to this weekend--your friends and family (and haterz?! lol) will thank you.

One of our favorite synth producers, Kris Menace, has also just come out with a brand new remix for Audio District's ''Run Through the Street's.. The track brims with creative, uplifting, almost spiritual synths. Expect what you typically expect from Kris Menace: gold. 






And the last track I want to show you guys is just as beautiful as the first. Solarris's remix of ''Retrograde'' by James Blake needs no explanation... What it really needs is a nice, thorough listen. I haven't heard indie-disco this creative since...since ever...Solarris is definitely on to something, and trust me, he will be going places in future, so be sure to keep an eye on him. 

Shaz: Exclusive Mixtape for Disco Filter

Disco Unchained's  own Shazeb threw together a rather refreshing  mixtape for the wonderful Disco Filter blog from Austin, Texas. The mix has one of the most obscure, audacious, and flat-out brilliant track-listings he's ever put together (listing will be up soon). For now though, enjoy the ride. 

Tobtok ft. Emil Heró - Higher (Avenue Remix)

Avenue, one of the most promising artists to hit the electro scene yet, has remixed one of our favorite tracks by Tobtok; 'Higher'. Avenue is unique because he's managed to deliver again and again. Each remix he's done adds something new to the original piece, something fresh. His remix of ''Higher'' is no exception. Avenue's edit adds a synth-ier and more space-disco undertone to the track, making it perfect for both clubs and long walks on the beach. Definitely give this one a listen, and be sure to throw some love at our friends at Avenue and Tobtok!

Generik Ft. Nicky Van She: The Weekend

Cool has a new sound! ‘Tour Of Cool’ connoisseur GENERIK has taken time out from his International highflying lifestyle, as professional party starter, to invest in his passion for the music that drives his life. Generik’s maiden voyage into the studio is a colossal collab with Nicky Van She, frontman for one of Disco Unchained's favorite synth-bands, "Van She". It’s aptly titled "The Weekend", features Nicky Van She on vocals, and is coming out on ONELOVE for the World.

A joyous story of parties lived and loved, wild adventures celebrated and savored, "The Weekend" hotwires hyperactive house with euphoric ‘90s rave piano, a sleek guitar solo and Nicky Van She on vocals. Naturally, the track was born on a bender, which started in a London pub and spilled back to Nicky’s house to all hours. “Nicky started singing the vocal into his phone on the train home,” recalls Generik Tyson. “We got home and started banging out the piano chords and the core of the track was made.”

Beat Club- Body Heat (Exclusive Premiere)

Sydney based Electro-funk band, Beat Club, made their debut with the track, "Body Heat." The track features spectacular 80's inspired vocals, and an even fresher Nu Disco beat.  The electro duo is comprised of Grand Nero (Vocals/ Guitars/ Drum Programming) and Boy Lord (Vocals/ Keyboards/ Percussion). LeBRON- Angelis (Magoo Remix)

Magoo's spin on LeBRON's latest track "Angelis" has been ringing bells all week at Disco Unchained. In terms of vocals, the song features a very minimalistic approach, which only adds to the overall listening experience of the track. However, the beat is very bold and crisp, and could even please the pickiest of Disco Unchained fans; which makes the mix a prime example of Nu Disco at it's best!

Sound Palace- Hold on

Sound Palace, an underground band from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida made their debut earlier this year with the track, "Hold on." The track features a great synth-line, as well as mesmerizing vocals, a kicking 80's drum set and chimes. With elements of other artists including, M83, and Cape Lion, the mix is a great example of synth-pop at it's best. 

Futuregirl- Ben Lam feat. Jeremey

A track that truly speaks for itself. Ben Lam's Futuregirl feat. Jeremey can only brighten your mood with it's nearly unforgettable chorus and it's exceptional synth-line.  The song features  incredible vocals with an insanely catchy beat, which makes it the perfect addition to your summer playlists!

Penguin Prison - All Night Long

Penguin Prison's newest sound left us in a daze. The track itself is an incredible cover of Lionel Richie's "All Night Long", and features stellar vocals and a very unique bass line. Normally, we don't swoon over anything by Penguin Prison, but this track truly is an exception. Be sure to give it a listen. You can follow Penguin Prison here!
