Bright Light Bright Light - An Open Heart (Alan Braxe Remix)- Exclusive Track Premiere!!!

If there's one artist that never fails to deliver, its Alan Braxe. I've personally been a fan of his for years now. I was sold when he released, ''Voices'' a while back. His latest sound, however, might just top all the work he's done yet. A true sign of a real musician- he manages to keep getting better with each release (which is extremely difficult given the standard of his work).

His latest release, an absolutely hypnotic remix of Bright Light Bright Light's ''An Open Heart'', is probably one of the coolest synth-based tracks i've heard all year. It has all the elements of the ideal track; a unique rhythm, sick guitar riffs, and clever chorus build-ups. The ''X" factor which this track, however, is how the lyrics go with the synth. The last time I heard a track as powerful as this was in 2010 when GLOVES' remixed ''Changes'' by Van She. So yeah, it's been a while since i've heard something as cool as this. Definitely give Alan Braxe's new remix a spin below, and be sure to throw some love at him here

Work Drugs - Runaways

Work Drugs just dropped their latest single off their upcoming album titled "Runaways". Their new single, ''Runaways'' features incredibly melodic lyrics as well as a very classy, and very sophisticated chorus-set (think Metronomy). "'Runaways'' is on repeat here at Disco Unchained, so definitely give it a spin below. Be sure to follow Work Drugs here for any updates, and if you can't wait to pick up their new album, head here to pre-order it!

Also if you want to find out more about this Work Drugs, check out our exclusive interview with them here !

Arcade Fighters - Carribean Queen (NDYD Soiree Tropicale)

Arcade Fighters recently dropped their latest nu-disco gem via our friends over at NDYD. Their latest remix is an edit of Carribean Queen by Billy Ocean. Their remix features an infectiously catchy beat and utilizes Billy Ocean's original vocals to perfection. Arcade Fighters managed to bring new life to this classic through their incredible remix. Be sure to check this out and remember to follow Arcade Fighters here.

Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through The Grapevine (Knuckle G Remix)

Normally, classics are untouchable. You just don't remix them, they're too golden to begin with. But every now and then an artist comes along and adds something to a classic that transcends the track to a different level (think Gloves and his remix of ''changes'' by Van She) . Knuckle G's nu-disco twist on Marvin Gaye's classic, 'Heard It Through The Grapevine' is simply beautiful. Beautiful in the sense that it commands chills. Words don't, and can't do this track any justice. Give it a spin and make sure to throw some extra love at Knuckle G here.

Saturday Sitdown with Justin Faust!

Unless you've been living in a cave for the past decade, you're probably more than familiar with synth-legend Justin Faust. Mr. Faust has been on our radar for years now, and he's produced some of our favorite tunes over the years. From 'Girl Talk' to 'Your Life', he has created some of the most creative and original synth tracks we've come across so far.

We got in touch with the legend himself and invited him over for one of our classic Saturday Sitdowns. An epic interview with an epic artist...

1) How did Justin Faust begin? What are your origins?

I used to make music and play in bands very early on, at the same time tampering with production in my dad's recording studio. At 16 I started buying records and DJed for a bit, I've also released music under other monikers over the years. Justin Faust came into existence by 2008, back then I felt like I really wanted to do something new and fresh and MySpace was big, so I set up a page and things went pretty quickly from then!

2) If you were trapped on a deserted island with the option of bringing with you either Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez , who would you bring?

Easy: Tarantino. Of course he's a super annoying coke head but I think he has more stories to tell when we're at the camp fire.

3) Where would you say your greatest musical influences have come from?

I'd say early funk stuff, also Jazz.. Miles, Coltrane, Monk. Later without any doubt Daft Punk. Also lots of metal and classical music.

4) What is Justin Faust's all-time favorite electronic based track (this is hard and we're known for asking this)?

Super hard. But I'd say Daft Punk - High Fidelity

5) What's your favorite dessert?

Ketchup.

6) Favorite horror film?

Alien.

7) Where do you see Justin Faust 5 years from now?

I have no clue. I might still be DJing and producing or it might go another direction, like film scores.. it will have to do with music though, that's for sure.

8) Do you have any EPs, albums, or works in the pipeline?

Yes, my new single "Spellbound" is coming out on Discotexas on September 12, followed by my debut album on September 19. After that there'll be a second edition of my "Disco Cuts" series out on Nurvous.. and I have a couple of remixes ready to be unleashed soon.

KC MUSIC- Believe ft. Davora

It's been a good while since we've come across some quality chill-wave stuff. KC Music's "Believe" is probably one of the most unique tracks we've come across in a long time..."Believe" features empowering, uplifting vocals coupled with light synths. The most definitive point of the track, however, is the pre-chorus and chorus. "Believe" is perfect for late-night drives. If you dig KC Music's sound, you can find more of it here

VYD: Heaven Hold Me Still

VYD is an Electro/Soul group from southern California, now based out of Brooklyn, New York. Composed of Singer/Songwriter Justin Howard and Guitarist/Beatmaker "ValhallaBeats" Nick Wisse. It's not some dude featuring some chick remixed by some other DJ sampling some other guy's stuff.. It's just one fucking band. It's just VYD. If you like their vibes, definitely check them out here

Tobtok ft. Emil Heró - Higher (Oliver Nelson & Skogsrå Remix)

Many of you probably remember Tobtok's synth masterpiece "Higher" from a few weeks ago. As if the original wasn't kick-ass enough, the track was just remixed by both Oliver Nelson and Skogsra! The names involved should give you an idea of the type of track we're talking here...Oliver Nelson and Skogsra's edit of "Higher" features spiritual, laid-back synth vibes accompanied by sophisticated verse build-ups. The vocoders on the chorus give the track a very unique feel as well. Expect nothing but gold from this remix. Be sure to throw some support at Tobtok here, and if you really dig the track, you can buy it here

Tennis - I'm Callin' (Exclusive Track Premiere!)

Tennis just dropped, what may in fact be, the coolest sound of the week! "I'm Callin'" is simply magical. The track features choppy, throw back 70s guitar snippets accompanied by vocals smoother than marble. The 'X' factor with this track, however, is the depth of it's vocals. Rarely do we come across a track with verses as arresting as these. Definitely give it a spin below, and if (when), you like it, be sure to throw some love at our friends over at Tennis here

Trip Pony- Daze (The Slow Waves Remix)

The Slow Waves just dropped their latest remix, an interesting edit of "Daze", originally by Australian R&B act  "Trip Pony". As usual, The Slow Waves deliver. Barretso-esque synth undertones and vocals reminiscent of Marina & The Diamonds truly make this track a gem. The Slow Waves' sound is unique in the sense that it takes influence from a variety of different electronic sub-genres including synthwave and house. Definitely an interesting tune, so be sure to give it a spin. Also, be sure to throw some love at our friends over at The Slow Waves here

Falqo.

Introducing Falqo, the next big thing on the indie-electro scene. Many of you are probably familiar with him already; his hit single “Feel Your Love” was met with thunderous applause by the electronic/nu-disco community upon its release a few weeks ago.

Disco Unchained’s new inter-mix program brings to you everything there is to know about Falqo. From his musical inspirations and influences, all the way to his favorite horror films, find out everything there is to know about this enigmatic artist in our exclusive debut inter-mix with him below!

Also, for those of you wondering what the hell an "Inter-Mix" is; it's a Disco Unchained exclusive profile review on an artist we feel is worth taking a look at. We ask the artist questions, both personal and professional, and we explore the origins and style of their music via exclusive mix-tapes they produce specially for us.  Special thanks to our friends at NuDiscoYourDisco for exclusively co-premiering it on their channels as well. Nothing but love for you guys!

1) Who is Falqo?

My full name is Alexander White and I grew up in the southern suburbs of Sydney.
The name "Falqo" is derived from my favourite animal, the Peregrine Falcon. I also chose the name in admiration of DJ Falcon, French Dj/Record producer and the late Austrian singer Falco.

2)  Where would you say your greatest inspirations have come from in regard to your 'sound'?

My father, who's a rock-n-roll king, my mother who's a disco queen and of course, Daft Punk who have been my heroes from a very early age. I was nine years old when I first heard and saw the video for 'Around the World,' I guess that's where my love for music and film developed..

3) Aside music production, what do you do for fun?

I write stories, delete emails, read books and watch way too many movies. One of  my favourite stories is Braveheart, along with Avatar and Dragon - The Bruce Lee one.

4) This is tough and we're known for asking this, but what's your all-time favourite track?

Claude De Bussy - Love Story

5) Where do you see Falqo 2 years from now? 5 ?

Ideally, I'd like to be travelling with my friends, having fun and of course, making music, but I don’t really like looking too far into the future, today is enough for me.

6) What's Falqo's favorite horror- film?

Braveheart (with Mel Gibson).

7) When is the album set to release? Any EPs or teasers in the pipe line?

Working on a project at the moment, but releasing it is another story. The 'Feel Your Love' EP is set for official release in September with a music video (directed by myself.) I have a lot of other stuff in the pipeline, but can't say too much about it at this stage!

8) What can we expect from Falqo in the future?

A Storm is Coming!

9) Is there anything you'd like to shout-out to your fans?

There is only love.

Falqo has specially prepared an exclusive QTAPE for us comprised of music he really resonates with. Be sure to check that out below. Special thanks to our friends at NuDiscoYourDisco for exclusively co-premiering it on their channels as well.

And for those of you that missed it, here's the master-piece of a track that thrust Falqo onto the spotlight a few weeks ago:

Saint Pepsi - Fall Harder (Exclusive Track Premiere!)

Saint Pepsi just dropped his latest track, "Fall Harder", via Carpark Records. His newest sound has a very uplifting synth scheme as well as some very interesting guitar riffs. The track bares a sound very similar to The Teenagers' earlier work. Be sure to catch this Disco Unchained premiere while it's still fresh, and remember to support the artist here!

Goldroom- Till Sunrise (Exclusive Track Premiere!)

Here it is. The track we've all been hearing so much about. "Til Sunrise" has very recently been premixed by tons of artists we love. From Cokes for Models to Justin Faust, everyone's had a spin at the track. Though a lot of the remixes we've heard were stellar, including Color Vision's (available below as well), Goldroom's original takes the cake. "Til Sunrise" features beautiful, angsty vocals (a staple for quality indie music), as well as a beautiful synth scheme. Definitely worth a listen.

Purple Disco Machine - Musique EP

One of the fastest growing names in our roster and probably throughout the whole scene as well, Purple Disco Machine, creates such a level of expectation that we can't help to feel overthrilled every time he delivers one of his perfectly crafted EP's. We truly love him here at Disco Unchained and he keeps paying back with incredible music.
This is probably one of his biggest works to date, "Musique" is one of those tracks that turns all the heads around, a game changer. With his trademark disco vibe and a touch of french house influence, PDM sends us on a soul trip with infectious chords, intense drums, inmense breakdowns and just the right amount of epic in what will sure be one of this summer's biggest anthems. If you like his sound, throw some love at him here.

Work Drugs: Free To Roam (Exclusive Track Premiere)

Work Drugs are out with their killer new indie-pop single,"Free To Roam". For those of you unfamiliar with Work Drugs, they are essentially one of the coolest indie-pop bands on the scene right now...We mean that, because we're fans of practically every track they've ever released (which is a big thing considering we're always surrounded by all sorts of music). "Free To Roam" features typically arresting, Work Drugs quality lyrics, along with backing guitars that remind us of Wild Nothing's earlier sound.

The Noisy Freaks - French Club (ANOVEL Remix)

And now for some kick-ass french house! Disco Unchained proudly presents "ANOVEL", a new french-electronic band that caught our attention with their beautiful remix of "French Club" by The Noisy Freaks. ANOVEL's sound is similar to that of Justice. 'Nuff said. Definitely give this gem a listen, it's perfect for dancing. And if you like this sound, get more of it here

Hey Champ: Comet (D.U Throwback Premiere)

Another 10/10 gem we thought we should share with you. Here is "Comet", probably the coolest  indie-electro track you'll hear all week! Released by "Hey Champ" just over a year ago, "Comet"' has a feel very similar to a lot of older releases by Com Truise, Monarchy, and Fred Falke. Definitely an interesting blend of sounds, because all of those artists are kick-ass to begin with...Definitely give this track a spin, and when you want to hear this guy's other stuff (you will, trust us), be sure to throw some love at him here

Thrupence - Don't You Mind- Future Classic Track Premiere!

Taken from Thrupence's forthcoming album Lessons, out on limited edition paint splatter wax on September 26, 2014, 'Don't You Mind' is the sickest house track we've come across in weeks. Think Klangkarussell, Ben Pearce, and JackLNDN. Yeah, we're talking that cool. This track is going to blow up within the next few weeks, so be sure to enjoy another Disco Unchained track premiere while it's still fresh (and cool for that matter, who wants to listen to music featured on the 'EDM Network?!). Also, be sure to throw some support at Thrupence here
