Sober- Childish Gambino (Miami Horror Edit)

Today is a good day. Ben Plant ala Miami Horror has dropped the first remix he's done in about 4 or 5 years. I remember the ol' school MH remix days- back when synth music was just starting to grow in Australia, and consequentially around the world. The Miami Horror remix of Sober by Childish Gambino (originally meant to be a cover) is flat out sick. Expect rich, 80s synth undertones and creamy, dreamy vocals. A fitting remix-comeback from Miami Horror indeed.

Ingredients.

Our good friends at Discobox Records just dropped one of the sickest house gems we've heard in a looong time. Dansoul's ''Ingredients'' is out of this world nasty, with synth phatter than Kim's ass. 8th Grader - Morro Bae (JNL Remix): TRACK PREMIERE!!!

As you guys have probably noticed, we blog rather haphazardly. Sometimes we post 20 times in a week, and other times, twice a month. There is a very good reason for this. We aren't trying to get every underground track to you guys. That's not what we're about. We're blogging to share with you the handful of tracks that are inspirational, funky, and/or golden enough to be called ''gems''. We wanted to create a no BS blog, somewhere you go whenever you are in need of something different/bad-ass. 

Rant over. Anyway, here is one of the BIGGEST tracks I've heard in a long time. My good friend and very talented producer Jon'Nathan AKA JNL, has just released an absolutely groovy remix of 8th Grader's ''Morro Bae''. JNL's edit is funky, synthy, catchy, innovative, smooth, and all around great. Be sure to give the remix a  spin below and be sure to download the track because its FREE. 

Empire Of The Sun - Wandering Star (FINAL DJS Remix)

My good friend Final DJS recently decided to remix one of the coolest new Empire of the Sun tracks, ''Wandering Star''. We love the original, it's magical. But Final DJS remix is not one to be overlooked. The entire time I was listening to the original track, I kept hoping there was a little more synth to it.  Final DJS's remix adds that extra touch to the original, making it just a little bit cooler. Be sure to throw some love at him here.  

Else - Fangs.

It has been a while since I've posted, but I really want the music I share to have an impact. Finding gems takes time and patience- with this new surge of internet music there is a lot of garbage floating around as well.  On a lighter note, It's been quite a while since I've heard something this good. Our friends at L'ordre just dropped Else's brand new track, ''Fangs''. Brilliant, lush synths and chilling, funky vocoders make this track absolutely perfect for late-night drives. Be sure to throw some love at Else here while he's still underground (which can't be for long with music like this).

Back Back Forward Punch - Up Late In The Jungle (TRACK PREMIERE)

Australians just get music. One of my favorite up and coming disco-electronic duos, BackBackForwardPunch, just released their latest master-piece, ''Up Late In The Jungle'' on Mammal Sounds. Think Daft Punk, KC and The Sunshine Band, and Alan Braxe. Yes, it's that funky. The track is is up for FREE download as well so be sure to add it to your weekend playlists.

Kimbra- Miracle (Bag Raiders Remix)- Disco Unchained Track Premiere!

We'll be honest, it's been a while since we've heard a track as cool as this. Bag Raiders are back, and with a fresh sound to say the least. Their latest remix has an absolutely arresting electro-rhythm and will surely get your feet tapping. Kimbra's original ''Miracle'' was solid to begin with, but it appears that Bag Raiders have (once again) managed to take gold and turn it into platinum, so to speak. Definitely give this brand new gem a spin, and be sure to throw some love at our good friend Kimbra and the boys at Bag Raiders. 

Sam Padrul - Shine (feat. Chuck New)

Sam Padrul's latest effort, off ENM, is nothing short of a funky bass-disco master piece. Featuring Chuck New, the track boasts funky vocals, a killer amount of bass, and synth so sexy it would make SuperMax  do this:

Shaz: Exclusive Mixtape for Disco Filter

Disco Unchained's  own Shazeb threw together a rather refreshing  mixtape for the wonderful Disco Filter blog from Austin, Texas. The mix has one of the most obscure, audacious, and flat-out brilliant track-listings he's ever put together (listing will be up soon). For now though, enjoy the ride. 

Tetrahominoid: Convoy.

How about some synthwave for a change? Tetrahominoid, a brand new synthwave act from LA, recently dropped an interesting track worth taking a look at. ''Convoy'' features nostalgic synth reminiscent of early Maethelvin, and vocoder samples that sound like something from Daft Punk's earlier albums. An interesting blend of sounds indeed. Definitely worth a spin. 

VentureX- Digital Work (Re-Imagined)

Did somebody say French House? VentureX's brand new sound, 'Digital Work' is on repeat here at Disco Unchained. Imagine Vanguard, and now imagine Fred Falke, and now imagine them having a child, who then goes on to produce this. Yes, Quality stuff.

"Digital Work" features arresting vocal samples, uplifting modular synths, and an out of this world chorus line. Funky is an understatement- this is gold. If you haven't heard of VentureX yet, then definitely give this a listen. ''Digital Work" will color your evening with the brightest shade of funk imaginable. 

DANCE WITH THE DEAD - WAVES

DANCE WITH THE DEAD  just released his latest track,''WAVES'' off his new full length album "Near Dark". WAVES features a progressive and uplifting synth-scheme as well as some very clever vocoder samples. A must hear for any synthwave fan. The Noisy Freaks - Tonight (Original Mix)

Following up from ‘I Need You Back’, The Noisy Freaks are here once again in full force to release their highly anticipated second track ‘Tonight’. After opening up for Gramatik, at the famous L’Olympia Music Hall in Paris, the French duo impressed with their performance and landed a coveted spot on the Lowtemp roster. Already making waves all across the US, this massive track is bound to lift them to an even higher level.

What makes 'Tonight' so unique is the eclectic nature of the track's sound. The track features harsh electro overtones (think Justice), and choppy vocal samples reminiscent of early Daft Punk. "Tonight" is Disco Unchained's  electro anthem for the month of August, so definitely give it a spin below!

Tobtok ft. Emil Heró - Higher (Oliver Nelson & Skogsrå Remix)

Many of you probably remember Tobtok's synth masterpiece "Higher" from a few weeks ago. As if the original wasn't kick-ass enough, the track was just remixed by both Oliver Nelson and Skogsra! The names involved should give you an idea of the type of track we're talking here...Oliver Nelson and Skogsra's edit of "Higher" features spiritual, laid-back synth vibes accompanied by sophisticated verse build-ups. The vocoders on the chorus give the track a very unique feel as well. Expect nothing but gold from this remix. Thrupence - Don't You Mind- Future Classic Track Premiere!

Taken from Thrupence's forthcoming album Lessons, out on limited edition paint splatter wax on September 26, 2014, 'Don't You Mind' is the sickest house track we've come across in weeks. Think Klangkarussell, Ben Pearce, and JackLNDN. Yeah, we're talking that cool. This track is going to blow up within the next few weeks, so be sure to enjoy another Disco Unchained track premiere while it's still fresh (and cool for that matter, who wants to listen to music featured on the 'EDM Network?!). Beat Club- If I Don't Hafta (Exclusive Track Premiere!)

"Beat Club," the Sydney based electro- funk band, is no new-comer to Disco Unchained..Their groovy single, "Body Heat" was premiered on the site last week for it's outstanding vocals, and fun 80's beat.   Released around the same time as their previously featured single, "If I Don't Hafta" is the perfect melody for all you 80's kids out there.

Beat Club- Body Heat (Exclusive Premiere)

Sydney based Electro-funk band, Beat Club, made their debut with the track, "Body Heat." The track features spectacular 80's inspired vocals, and an even fresher Nu Disco beat.  The electro duo is comprised of Grand Nero (Vocals/ Guitars/ Drum Programming) and Boy Lord (Vocals/ Keyboards/ Percussion). Cannonstheband- Temporary Romance (TRACK PREMIERE)

Cannons the band are an indie- electro band that focus on future-funk sounds and slowed down vocals. The trio consists of Paul Davis, Ryan Clapham and Michelle Joy from Los Angeles, CA. She's On Fire (Avenue Remix)

Over the past couple of months, Avenue has forged quite an impressive reputation for quality. In his most recent work, a remix of  Bo Saris' She's on Fire, he doesn't disappoint.
