ANORAAK: Skywaking (DISCO UNCHAINED EXCLUSIVE MIX)

Our great friend Anoraak, one of the most talented synth producers in the loop right now, has prepared an exclusive space-disco synth DJ set for all of us here at Disco Unchained... We are honored as well as humbled to be given a mix of this caliber- Anoraak is one of the few artists whose taste in music we trust unconditionally

Skywalking features tracks from Cyclist, Crystal Fighters, Fort Romeau, syvuk and tons of other sick producers you (will) love. So relax, hit play, and be sure to add this DJ set to your weekend playlists, it'll so be worth it. Attached below the mixtape are some other amazing track's we've come across lately, so scope them out too.

James Rod: Olsen Disket (EXCLUSIVE TRACK PREMIERE!!!)

James Rod, co-founder of the wonderful Spanish disco label ''Spa In Disco'', has just released some music of his own. It's more than apparent that he just gets what good space-disco is all about, because only someone with a very profound understanding of disco/synths could create a track this cool. ''Olsen Disket'' takes me back to 2011...to the era Miami Horror released ''Illumination'' and the time the Valerie Collective was still alive. The track brims with creativity, and simple elegance. A true gem.

Jordan F: Discovery Mixtape + Tracklisting

Australian Synthwave producer Jordan F recently told me about a sick monthly mixtape series he wanted to start in the not-so-distant future. I loved the idea because, frankly, very few synthwave artists even release mixtapes anymore  (I remember the good old days when Anoraak would drop mixes on the regular, along with College and Maethelvin).

Anyway, I thought it would be pretty rad to premiere Jordan F's first official mixtape, ''Discovery'' on Disco Unchained...The tape is synthy, funky, groovy, cosmic, retro, cultured, organized, and all around classy. ''Discovery'' is perfect for driving, chilling, or pretty much doing anything, so be sure to check it out below. The tracklisting is also exclusively available below as a treat for you guys. Some key words are: Neptune Safari, Zimmer, and Mitch Murder.

Tracklisting:

D/A/D – Terminal
Mitch Murder – Snow Crash

Track Premiere...Golf: All In All (ANORAAK REMIX)

If there's one person's taste in music we trust, it's Anoraak's. He just knows the right people to remix and the right time to do it. Aside from being a talented artist himself, he has an ear for good music. Anyway, he just finished his latest remix for GOLF's ''All In All'' (a cool EP definitely worth checking out). Anoraak's remix is both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. The track features a very synth-y Valerie era sound, so if you've been following him since then, you're in for a treat.

From The Vaults: Keenhouse - Ari-es (NightWaves Remix)

Part of the reason Disco Unchained was created was because we wanted to perpetuate a very particular, very uplifting synth sound. As most of our old-school followers probably already know, 2007 to 2010 was the golden-age for revival synth music. Bands like College, Anoraak, and Minitel Rose and blogs like Valerie  and DiscoDust helped create the underground synth scene.

From the late 2009 era comes NightWaves, one of the most talented, progressive, and brilliant producers to have ever hit our radar. His remix of KeenHouse's synthwave classic ''Ari-es'' is nothing short of mind-blowing. Nu-disco guitar snippets, uplifting synths, and an overall spacey feel make this track an absolute gem. This remix is perhaps the epitome of the sound we're trying to bring back. A must hear.

Robert Parker: Interstellar Traveller (Exclusive Track Premiere)

To those of you that have been following us for a while now, you'd notice we've stayed away from synthwave for a while. There is a reason for this. Generally we've felt that the scene had become very saturated with numerous copy-cat artists making repetitive music with repetitive track names- you know what we mean. Robert Parker has not only re-inspired our faith in this genre, but he has shown us that true creativity within this sound still exists. His latest track, ''Interstellar Traveller'' features College quality synths and vocals that command chills. A true gem of a track. Be sure to grab it on bandcamp here.

Worship: Never (Exclusive Track Premiere)

We haven't heard this side of Worship since the DiscoDust era of 2010. ''Never'' is Space Disco at its finest. Words, as with a lot of the tracks we blog, don't do the music much justice. Grab your keys, get in your car, and go for a drive. Worship helped invent late-night synth music, and his latest track is nothing short of genius.

Final DJs: All That Matters

Final DJs is one of the few artists we know that hasn't produced a bad track. His taste in music is partly to blame, as one of the founders of Nu Disco Your Disco, he's perpetually surrounded by quality synthwave, indie-dance, and of course, nu-disco. His latest track gem is definitely worth a listen. ''All That Matters'' is filled with deep, melodic synths and uplifting vocal snippets that are sure to give you chills. Perfect for late night drives or walks on the beach. Perfect for star-gazing.

Tetrahominoid: Convoy.

How about some synthwave for a change? Tetrahominoid, a brand new synthwave act from LA, recently dropped an interesting track worth taking a look at. ''Convoy'' features nostalgic synth reminiscent of early Maethelvin, and vocoder samples that sound like something from Daft Punk's earlier albums. An interesting blend of sounds indeed. Definitely worth a spin.

I'll be taking a break from blogging for a few days. I'm on vacation, but i'll be sure to keep you in the loop if any game-changers or extra-special gems cross my path. Here's a little present for having such a crazy cool taste in music! Happy Saturday!

Goldroom- Till Sunrise (Exclusive Track Premiere!)

Here it is. The track we've all been hearing so much about. "Til Sunrise" has very recently been premixed by tons of artists we love. From Cokes for Models to Justin Faust, everyone's had a spin at the track. Though a lot of the remixes we've heard were stellar, including Color Vision's (available below as well), Goldroom's original takes the cake. "Til Sunrise" features beautiful, angsty vocals (a staple for quality indie music), as well as a beautiful synth scheme. Definitely worth a listen.

Menace & Lord - Sun, Moon & Stars Pt.1 (Official Audio)

Menace & Lord is Kris Menace and Simon Lord. Their debut album, “Sun Moon & Stars”, is released on September 15th. This duo is definitely worth checking out, especially because Kris Menace has been on our radar for years now. Their debut track, "Sun, Moon & Stars Pt.1" is the chillest indie-pop track we've come across in a while. Perhaps indie-pop isn't the word to describe it, it's more of a sophisticated blend of synthwave and dream-pop. An odd combination? Sure. But a kick-ass one none-the-less. Be sure to throw some love at Menace & Lord here!

EXCLUSIVE TRACK PREMIERE: Maethelvin- Waveforms (Live edit.)

Ah, Maethelvin. You just can't go wrong with him. All his tracks, from "Lost in a Big City" to his remix of "Continue" by Minitel Rose, are absolutely brilliant. Disco Unchained is proud to premiere Maethelvin's latest track, "Waveforms". "Waveforms" is a typical Valerie era track...beautiful, eerie synths with melodic 80s undertones. Be sure to give this a listen, Maethelvin is one of our original favorites. You can check his other stuff out here!

Emil Rottmayer - EXP003- July Track Premiere!

The London based synthwave producer Emil Rottmayer caught my attention earlier today with this little gem he released off his EXP EP. We're all about simplicity here at Disco Unchained because often times, simplicity is beauty. And in  Emil Rottmayer's case, simplicity is gold.

"EXP003" features a beautiful, minimalist synth scheme, almost reminiscent of College's earlier sound. Though vocal-less, the track speaks volumes. Be sure to give this gem a listen, and be on the look out for  Emil Rottmayer. We might be seeing some more of him in the near future!

Electric Youth - Runaway

Old-school italo-disco couple Electric Youth just dropped their newest hit "Runaway" via Secretly Canadian. "Runaway" is from Electric Youth's debut album INNERWORLD scheduled for release on 30/09/14. The track features typical Electric Youth "feel-good" modular synths, and their signature, eerily piercing vocals grâce à  Bronwyn.

Tesla Boy- Strong- Track Premiere July 2014

One of Disco Unchained's original favorites, Tesla Boy, just released their brand new single, "Strong". Tesla Boy's last album, "Dream Machine" really set a high standard for them and its great to know they haven't lost it. Anton Sevidov's vocals, as usual, are hauntingly beautiful and piercingly poignant. "Strong" features a highly melodic synthline and  kick-ass guitar riffs, basically the kind of sound you expect from a band as progressive and original as Tesla Boy. Special props to Mr. Sevidov for his vocals because they made our day! Be on the look out for new stuff from Tesla Boy in the future as well... They have a lot of surprises coming!

Medsound- Strangers (Original Mix)- July Track Premiere!

Spanish nu-disco producer Medsound dropped his latest track, "Strangers" last night via Media-Blackout. Medsound's crisp, hauntingly catchy, and eerily beautiful synth has got us hooked. I can't get this off repeat! "Strangers" features a very original verse scheme, and an exceptionally melodic synth line. Be sure to give Medsound some support here. Also,  be on the look out for him in the future... With the kind of tracks he's producing, it's just a matter of time before he makes it really big!
